Create Your Own Funko Pop With Pop! Yourself Site

Jun 24, 2023

Funko has finally given fans the ability to make their own custom figures with the Pop! Yourself site.

Collectibles have been an integral part of nerd pop-culture for decades. Whether it's movies, TV shows, comic books, or video games, merchandising is always a pretty big money-maker, and for older fans, high-quality collectibles are usually the most appealing form of merchandise for their favorite IPs. Unfortunately, collectibles have often been fairly expensive, usually coming in the form of highly detailed models, sculptures, or replicas representing iconic characters and props. But with the appearance of brands like Funko in the early 2010s, pop-culture collectibles became much more readily available.

Debuting in 2011, Funko's Pop! line is by far the company's most iconic and beloved toy range. Back in the early 2010s, Pop! figures managed to gradually gain quite a bit of traction by offering reasonably priced collectibles from a handful of huge franchises, and over the last decade, Funko's Pop! range has only continued to grow exponentially. Along with more franchises and IPs than ever before, Funko's Pop! range now encompasses custom figures, with its new Pop! Yourself website letting fans create a little figure based on themselves, their friends, and their family.

Back in 2021, Funko's two brick-and-mortar stores - located in Everett and Hollywood - launched the Pop! Yourself program. For a few years now, this program has been the main attraction of visiting these stores, with it being the only location where fans could create and purchase an official Pop! figure custom-made to look like themselves or someone they know. Well, fans no longer have to travel out of their way to get a custom Pop!, with Funko having just launched the Pop! Yourself website.

Located on Funko's official website, Pop! Yourself lets users create their very own Pop! figure, choosing from quite an impressive number of accessories, clothing options, hairstyles, and other various points of customization. After choosing a body type and skin tone, fans will get to view a 360-degree model of their figure, which is then present for the rest of the experience. Fans will then choose what type of hair they want, what style, and what color, before moving on to glasses, facial hair, and apparel. After choosing an outfit, fans will then be tasked with choosing up to two accessories, and that's where the real fun begins, with a ton of different options to pick from ranging from game controllers to lightsabers to even a tiny little Pop! figure.

Once both accessories have been chosen, users will then be prompted to add a pet or two to their purchase, adding a little dog or cat figure to the package. The Pop! Yourself figure costs $30 by itself, with each additional pet costing $4 each. Customers can also choose to get their figure delivered in a protective case, which costs an additional $8. Of course, like every Pop! figure, this custom toy will come packaged in its own version of the now-iconic Pop! box, with its custom name printed on the front, and a space for a personalized message on the back, making it an ideal gift for just about any occasion.

While there are already a ton of different customization options on the Pop! Yourself website, Funko has stated that it's got some collaborations in the works, potentially bringing a range of different accessories to the program based on various entertainment and music properties. Funko's Pop! Yourself experience is available right now, alongside a rewards program that gives users exclusive rewards when they make a purchase, ranging from sweepstakes to chances to nab exclusive merch.

From his earliest gaming memories playing Spyro 2 on the PlayStation, to being obsessed with the swing-out animations in Marvel's Spider-Man, Cameron has always been, and continues to be, in love with video games. What started as frenzied childhood discussions on Star Wars Battlefront 2 has transitioned into somewhat less frenzied breakdowns on...Star Wars Battlefront 2. It's fair to say that video games are an integral part of Cameron's life, and hopefully they'll continue to be.
